On the evening of Friday April 23 2010, Cahir Park history was made when the under 11s squad performed as ball-boys at a top League of Ireland game. The Airtricity First Division clash at the RSC in Waterford saw United beat Finn Harps from Donegal 2-0. No team from the Cahir club had as yet received this honour and it came as a result of the fine links made between the two clubs as a result of Waterford's participation in the Centenary Challenge celebration game in February. The boys were delighted with the evening, getting plenty of goodies and mentions over the PA and in the match programme..."Cahir Park AFC are tonight happy to provide the ballboys for the Finn Harps clash. This is part of the great relationship built up with the Tipperary club who this year celebrate their centenary.
Indeed, the Blues played Sporting Fingal in the Centenary Challenge in Cahir at the end of February and fielded a Cahir native, Patsy Ward, among their ranks in the early 60s. Welcome lads!" Great job all 'round!
